Scandinavian budget specialist, Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen), has announced it will commence flights between the United States and the Caribbean later this December.

In a statement, the LCC said it would deploy its B737-800s on 2x-3x weekly flights from the Northeastern US cities of Boston, Baltimore Thurgood Marshall, and New York JFK to Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe and Fort de France in Martinique in the French West Indies effective December 3.

Both islands are Overseas Departments of France and are thus party to the United States-European Union-Iceland-Norway Air Transport Agreement. The agreement authorizes unlimited frequencies between any point or points in the EU and any point or points in U.S. territory for any and all US, EU, Icelandic, and Norwegian airlines.
