Cargojet Airways (W8, Hamilton, ON) and First Air (Carp) have expanded an existing commercial co-operation agreement effective July 1, 2015 while extending their Transportation Agreement through to June 30, 2025.

Under the terms of their Cooperation Agreement signed in June last year, Cargojet took over the lease on First Air’s B767-200(F), C-GKLY (msn 22314), before deploying it on 3x weekly cargo flights from Ottawa International and Winnipeg International to Iqaluit on behalf of First Air.

However, the expanded partnership will not only strengthen the strategic alliance between the two companies, but will also allow for seamless air cargo transportation between Canada's fourteen largest cities, served by Cargojet's overnight air cargo network, and the thirty-two communities served by First Air in Canada's North.

"This new agreement is a logical extension of our relationship and allows First Air to improve cargo connectivity to the Arctic, by way of the Southern Canadian gateways served by Cargojet," Bert van der Stege, Vice President Commercial at First Air, said. "This partnership is a major step forward in providing cargo to our northern clientele at a reasonable price and in a reasonable timeframe.”
