Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) has indeed sourced an ex-Skymark Airlines (BC, Tokyo Haneda) A330-300 for its operational requirements with the lease of OE-IDI (cn 1574) from US-based firm, CIT Aerospace through its Austrian wing, Waypoint GmbH. The aircraft, formerly JA330F with the Japanese LCC, was ferried from storage at Teruel to Palma de Mallorca on July 7.

Spanish media reports have indicated the twinjet will be deployed on Air Europa's North American passenger flights as well as troop movement flights for the Spanish Armed Forces. Additional machines may be delivered as and when demand dictates.
