FedEx Express (FX, Memphis International) is close to finalizing a new B767-300F freighter deal with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) Leeham News has reported. Quoting Market Intelligence, the site says the US logistics giant is keen to offload its ageing A300-600(F), MD-11(F) and DC-10 freighter fleets and as such, could order as many as fifty B767-300(F)s and possibly ten B777-Fs.

FedEx's board is due to convene for a meeting in Seattle later this month.

The carrier currently operates twenty-four B767-300(F)s and twenty-five B777-(F)s with an additional thirty-five and eighteen of each type still on order.
