fastjet plc says it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with an undisclosed lessor for a fifth A319-100. The LCC says the aircraft will be inducted into its Tanzanian operations, Fastjet (Dar es Salaam), once painting and interior modifications have been completed.

The firm says its forth A319 - 5H-FJR (cn 2281) - will shortly be delivered to its nascent subsidiary Fastjet Zimbabwe (FN, Harare International) which is nearing completion of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) with authorities in Harare. The former South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) jet is leased from Ireland's ICBC International Leasing Co.

Aside from its Tanzanian operations, fastjet's other units include Fastjet Zambia (Lusaka) and Fastjet Kenya (Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) with Fastjet Nigeria (Lagos) and Fastjet South Africa (Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) now said to be dormant for the time being.
