Amaszonas (Z8, La Paz El Alto) is to partner Spain's Air Nostrum (YW, Valencia Manises) for its upcoming Paraguayan project - Amaszonas Paraguay (Asuncion) - scheduled to commence operations later next month. The start-up is owned by Inversiones Líneas Aéreas Internacionales SL, a consortium of interests including local Paraguayan investors, Bolivia's Amaszonas, and Air Nostrum.

The Preferente news site indicates the Spanish carrier has begun interviewing CRJ200 flight crew willing to move to South America to operate Amaszonas del Paraguay's maiden pair of jets.

The start-up is said to be nearing full certification with the Paraguayan civil aviation authority (Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC). Its AOC is expected to be issued later this month.

Previous reports indicate it is planning to serve Campo Grande International and Foz do Iguaçu International in Brazil, Córdoba International and Posadas in Argentina, and Santa Cruz Viru Viru in Bolivia among other destinations.
