Jet2 (United Kingdom) (LS, Leeds/Bradford) says it has finalized an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for twenty-seven B737-800s. The aircraft will be delivered over a two-year period running to 2018.
“This is an exciting time in Jet2.com’s history as we invest in our next phase of growth and development with this order of new B737-800NG aircraft," Philip Meeson, Executive Chairman said. "A cost effective and exceptional aircraft, this new deal will allow us to build upon our already highly successful family friendly leisure travel business.”
A subsidiary of Dart Group PLC, a UK Aim-listed Leisure Travel and Distribution & Logistics Group, Jet2.com operates a fleet of fifty-eight in-house aircraft including twenty-nine B737-300s, seventeen B737-800s, and twelve B757-200s on leisure flights across mainland Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Canary Islands.
