Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) has delivered the first A330-300 with an increased maximum take-off weight of 242 tons to SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup). The new aircraft also has improved aerodynamics and engine improvements with SAS selecting Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines to power the arcraft.

The aircraft, the first of four extended A330-300s, is registered LN-RKR (msn 1660) has been delivered to Copenhagen Kastrup on September 16 and has operated its first rotation to Chicago O'Hare on September 21. SAS already operates four A330-300s that were delivered between 2002 and 2003.
