Tunisair (TU, Tunis) and subsidiary Tunisair Express (UG, Tunis) will be the carrier most affected by the temporary closure of Tunis between 5pm on October 14 and 10pm on October 16 following an announcement by OACA, the Tunisian civil aviation and airports authority, that the airport's operations need to be suspended for repair works of the airport's intersecting runways.

The national carrier has announced that it will operate all of its flights, but that they will be rescheduled to operate from and to Monastir 130 kilometres south of the capital.

Based on ch-aviation analysis of schedule data for Tunis airport, other major operators serving the airport more than twice daily include Air France (AF, Paris CDG), Libyan Arab Airlines (Tripoli International), Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga), Royal Air Maroc (AT, Casablanca Mohamed V), Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport).
