Bulgarian Air Charter (Sofia) has acquired an ex-Cyprus Airways (1947) (Larnaca) A320-200 LZ-LAA (msn 256), the carrier's first Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) narrowbody. According to Skyliner Aviation, the aircraft has already been ferried to Sofia on September 17.

The Bulgarian charter operator has so far operated an exclusively McDonnell Douglas (Long Beach) fleet consisting of twelve MD-82s and a single MD-83, although some of the aircraft have been in storage at Sofia airport in recent years.

Bulgarian Air Charter operates both charter services on behalf of tour operators as well as ACMI services on behalf of other airlines, mainly Mistral Air (Rome Fiumicino).
