British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) has taken delivery of its maiden B787-9 - G-ZBKA (msn 38616) - following a ferry flight from Everett to London Heathrow.

The first of twenty-two on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National), the aircraft will begin commercial operations on October 25 with flights to Delhi International followed by Abu Dhabi International, Muscat, Austin-Bergstrom International, San José, US, and Kuala Lumpur International later in the year.

The IAG subsidiary also operates a fleet of eight B787-8s with an outstanding order for twelve B787-10s as well.
