Adria Airways (Ljubljana) has garnered interest from 'several' keen investors insofar as its privatization process is concerned.

Since advertising the sale of their combined 91.58% stake in the carrier earlier this year, Slovenia's Sovereign Holding (Slovenski Državni Holding - SDH), the Bank Asset Management Company (Družba za Upravljanje Terjatev Bank - DUTB), and the PDP restructuring firm (Posebna Družba za Podjetniško) have announced that several bids have now been submitted.

While none of the proposed investors has officially been disclosed, unofficially EX-YU Aviation News has indicated that INTRO Aviation, the German turnaround specialist whose interests include CityJet (WX, Dublin International) and InterSky (Friedrichshafen), is among them.

Airline CEO Mark Anžur has said that with the deadline for submissions now passed, the tender process will progress to the next phase wherein each proposal will be scrutinized. As such, the sale of a controlling stake is expected to be finalized in the coming months.

Ljubljana placed Adria on its privatization list in 2013 following a failed attempt at selling off a 75% stake in 2012. As part of its privatization drive, Slovenia sold a 75.5% stake in Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d. to German airport operator Fraport AG for EUR177.1 million late last year.
