Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) will end A310-300 operations just over a year from now Air Marshal Jamal Uddin Ahmed (Retd), chairman of Biman board of directors, has told the Dhaka Tribune newspaper. The Bangladeshi national carrier maintains a pair of A310s - S2-ADF (cn 700) and S2-ADK (cn 594) - which it uses on flights to Chittagong, Dammam, Doha Hamad International, Dubai International, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur International, Kuwait, and Sylhet.

However, given their poor fuel economy as well as growing lack of spares, Biman intends to withdraw the first of the pair in June of next year with the second to be gone by November 2016, Ahmed said.

The ch-aviation aircraft database shows Biman currently operates a fleet of two B737-800s (with another two to arrive at year-end), two B777-200(ER)s (leased from EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International)), one B767-300(ER) (leased from Mega Maldives Air (Malé)), four B777-300(ER)s, and two Dash 8-400s (leased from Smart Aviation (SME, Cairo International)).
