Spring Airlines Japan (Tokyo Narita) has formally set in motion plans to begin international services during the first quarter of next year.

In its application to the Japan MLITT Civil Aviation Bureau (CAB), the LCC said it wants to begin a 3x weekly Tokyo Narita-Wuhan service from February 13 of next year followed by a 4x weekly Tokyo Narita-Chongqing service on February 14. Both routes will operate on-board B737-800 equipment.

Launched in mid-2014, the Spring Airlines (9C, Shanghai Hongqiao) subsidiary operates a fleet of three B737-800s on flights from its Tokyo Narita hub to Hiroshima International and Saga locally.
