Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) has unveiled airBaltic (BT, Riga) as the launch operator for its upcoming A220-300 twinjet which is due to enter commercial service during the second half of 2016. The Latvian national carrier has thirteen of the type on order with options for an additional seven.

Earlier this year, the Canadian manufacturer confirmed that Swiss (LX, Zurich) would be the launch operator for the smaller A220-100, currently scheduled to begin revenue operations during the first half of next year. Bombardier says that with only a few tests remaining, it is on track to have the CS100 type-certified by Transport Canada by year-end.

Thus far, Bombardier has booked orders and commitments for 603 C-Series aircraft, including firm orders for 243 jets.
