Blue Islands (SI, Jersey) has secured a charter contract with travel agency Rolf Meier Reisen to operate flights between Zurich and Jersey, with onward connections to Guernsey during the summer 2016 season.

Under the contract, which in the past was carried out by defunct InterSky (Friedrichshafen), Blue Islands will operate a total of eighteen charter flights beginning May 7, 2016 and running through to September 3, 2016. The weekly flights are on-board an ATR42-300.

"Inbound summer charter services form an essential part of our visitor economy," Rob Veron, Blue Islands' Managing Director said. "Partnering with specialist tour operators such as Rolf Meier Reisen reinforces our commitment to both serving our local travel requirements and also facilitating the rejuvenation of our all-important tourism industry."

The Jersey-based carrier operates three ATR42-300s, one ATR42-500s, and one ATR72-500 on scheduled flights throughout the Channel Islands as well as to the UK mainland and Switzerland.
