Yamal Airlines (YC, Salekhard) has delayed delivery of its first SSJ 100/95 - RA-89034 (msn 95062) - until the first quarter of next year owing to funding constraints. The Ural-based carrier agreed to lease twenty-five SuperJets from Russia's State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) at this year's MAKS 2015 Air Show with the first aircraft to have arrived this month.

However, managing director Vasiliy Kryuk told Russia's ATO news that GTLK had failed to initiate a registered capital increase needed to acquire the jets thus leading to delays in their deliveries.

"Despite this, we are continuing to work with GTLK under contract," he said. "The delay was only because of this."

Two of the aircraft were to have arrived this year followed by fifteen next year, and eight in 2017.

Kryuk added that the airline is 80% ready to begin operating the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Zhukovsky) twinjet with flight crews and technical staff having already received appropriate training.

Based out of Tyumen Roschino, the SuperJets will be used to gradually replace Yamal's Western-built fleet of aircraft which includes seven A320-200s, two A321-200s, three B737-400s, one B737-500, and eleven CRJ200s.
