Douala International Airport in Cameroon will close to all traffic between March 1 and 21, 2016 to allow for runway upgrade works. The airfield was closed for two days this past month following works to the aircraft apron.

The project is part of a XAF15 billion (USD24.3 million) rehabilitation exercise funded by the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement - AFD).

Currently, a total of nineteen scheduled carriers serve the airport, the busiest in Cameroon.
