Eindhoven Airport in the Netherlands is set to close for a period of two weeks this coming summer to allow for runway upgrade works. In a statement, authorities said that between May 30 and June 15, the airfield would be closed to all traffic with commercial operators forced to make alternative arrangements.

Of the carriers to serve Eindhoven, Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has announced it will shift its operations to Maastricht for the duration of works. Other carriers affected by the closure include: Corendon Airlines (XC, Antalya), Jetairfly (Brussels National), Ryanair (FR, Dublin International), Transavia Airlines (HV, Amsterdam Schiphol), and Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat).
