Uzbekistan Airways (HY, Tashkent International) says it will take delivery of its only two B787-8s - msn 38363 and 38364 - on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) during the third and fourth quarters of this year.

In a statement announcing the opening of a new MRO centre, the Uzbek national carrier said the aircraft would arrive in September and November of this year and would be used on ultra-longhaul flights.

Among the routes considered is Tashkent International-New York JFK direct which at present operates via Riga using a B767-300(ER).
