The Tajik government has held talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) over possible future cooperation between the two sides. The press service of the former Soviet republic said talks between the Tajik deputy prime minister, Azim Ibrohim, and Airbus Vice President - CIS, Silvere Delaunay, last week touched on the possible acquisition of aircraft as well.

At present, both state-owned Tajik Air (7J, Dushanbe) and privately-owned Somon Air (SZ, Dushanbe) employ Boeing-dominated fleets with B737-300s, B737-400s, B737-800s, B737-900(ER)s, and B757-200s being used for both domestic and international scheduled passenger flights.
