The government of Belarus has warned AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2, Baku Heydar Aliev International) that it risks the revocation of its Minsk National flight permit over its planned use of AZALJET (Baku Heydar Aliev International) to service its Baku Heydar Aliev International-Minsk Nat'l route.

Central Asian Aero News reports the Belarussians are concerned the use of AZALJET, AZAL's recently launched budget brand, violates the terms of the two countries' bilateral air services agreement. Belarus says its concerns focus on AZALJET's prices which they say will negatively impact Belavia (B2, Minsk National) given that its fares are almost 300% more expensive than those of the Azerbaijanis.

AZAL Vice President, Arif Mammadov, says talks are currently underway to resolve the crisis.
