Oman Air (WY, Muscat) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Paul Gregorowitsch says the carrier is in talks with a trio of carriers, two from Europe and one from Asia, over the establishment of joint-venture agreements.

Speaking in London during the launch of Oman Air's second daily London Heathrow service this week, Gregorowitsch said such proposals would allow the airline to expand its international connectivity without the need to join a global airline alliance.

According to Bloomberg, talks are also underway over a possible codeshare agreement with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) to add to those already in place with Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan Airlines, Thai Airways International, Ethiopian Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Turkish Airlines.

Oman Air currently serves fifty destinations in twenty-seven countries in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Plans to start flights to China this summer have been deferred pending the issuance of better slot times, he added.
