Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) is close to sealing a deal with Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) for up to 125 CSeries jets. Sources who spoke to The Wall Street Journal on condition of anonymity said the Canadian manufacturer is expected to reach a final agreement with Delta for seventy-five firm order A220-300s with options for fifty more by the end of the month.

The twinjets will be used to replace Delta's ageing fleet of 116 MD-88s which CEO Ed Bastian has said "do need to retire."

Bombardier's long-delayed CSeries is set to make its commercial debut this year with Swiss (LX, Zurich) on track to take delivery of its first A220-100 before July while airBaltic (BT, Riga) is expected to take delivery of its first CS300 during the second half of the year.
