Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) is reportedly planning to supplement its existing A321-200 (sl) order with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) with thirty-seven more airframes informed sources have told Reuters. At present, the US carrier has forty-five on order of which two have so far been delivered.

Alongside the B737-900(ER), the type will replace Delta's ageing fleet of 111 B757-200s whose average age is now approaching twenty years.
