Redmond Muncipal Airport will close to all traffic from May 2 to May 22, 2016 on account of runway upgrade works. For the duration of the project, commercial operators will be forced to use alternative airports.

Scheduled carriers that currently serve the Oregonian town include: Horizon Air (QX, Seattle Tacoma International) (for Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International)); and SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City) for American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth), United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) and Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson).

The USD18.3 million project will see the cross-section of the airfield's main 5/23 runway re-engineered to improve drainage and prevent water accumulation from its surface.
