Roraima Airways (ROR, Georgetown Ogle) co-founder and managing director, Captain Gerald Gouveia, says the Guyanese operator will team up with its US strategic partner Dynamic International Airways (Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) in developing Georgetown Cheddi Jagan into a regional South American feeder hub.

“We are going to make Timehri International Airport the hub to feed traffic out of New York JFK into Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), Paramaribo Zorg en Hoop (in Suriname), Boa Vista, RR (in Brazil), and Puerto Ordaz/Ciudad Guayana (in Venezuela), using that international airport that the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) said cannot be used as a hub; we will make it into a hub,” he was quoted by the Guyana Chronicle.

The two airlines are reportedly developing an interline agreement to facilitate the transfer of passengers through the Guyanese capital.

Dynamic Airways currently serves the New York JFK-Georgetown Cheddi Jagan route 4x weekly using a B767-200(ER) while for its part, Roraima Airways operates three BN-2s and a Trislander on passenger charter as well as medevac flights across Guyana as well as to neighbouring countries.
