Libya-based airlines will resume direct flights between Tripoli Mitiga and Tunis Carthage International Airport at the end of the month Libya's new unity government has announced.

Libyan Wings (YL, Tripoli Mitiga), Libyan Airlines (LN, Tripoli Mitiga), Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga), and Air Libya (7I, Tripoli Mitiga) were forced to suspend their respective services to the Tunisian capital in December last year following the bombing of a bus carrying Tunisian presidential guards which killed twelve and injured twenty others. Terrorists linked to Islamic State in Libya later claimed responsibility.

Since then, all Libyan carriers have been restricted to serving the Tunisian cities of Monastir and Sfax as a security precaution.
