Small Planet Airlines Germany (Berlin Schönefeld) launched operations on Friday, May 13 a day after it secured its AOC from Germany's Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA).

Of the two A320-200s it has leased from Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel), the Small Planet Airlines (Vilnius) subsidiary has so far deployed one - D-ABDB (cn 2619) - into revenue service on flights from its Bremen Hans Koschnick and Paderborn/Lippstadt bases to Heraklion and Kos Hippocrates in Greece. The flights are part of a charter contract with TUI Deutschland.

As previously reported, SPAG has also secured a charter contract with Thomas Cook to run flights to Spain and Turkey this summer. Then, this winter, the charter operator will offer flights between Germany and the Canary Islands for and on behalf of charter broker Involatus.
