AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2, Baku Heydar Aliev International) has signed a Letter of Intent with Russia's Ilyushin Finance Co. for the planned lease of an unspecified number of MC-21s.

Quoting the TASS news agency, Central Asian Aero News says the document was signed by the Azeri carrier's Director General, Jahangir Asgarov, and IFC's CEO, Alexander Rubtsov.

No delivery dates were disclosed either. The announcement coincides with the official presentation of the first airworthy MC-21-300 at Irkut (Irkutsk Northwest) headquarters in Irkutsk on Wednesday, June 8.
