Amaszonas Uruguay (AUZ, Montevideo Carrasco) has commenced commercial operations following the launch of double-daily return flights from Montevideo Carrasco to Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery on October 5.

Operations are on-board the carrier's sole aircraft, CRJ200 CX-SDU (cn 7209), which is leased from Bolivian parent Amaszonas (Z8, La Paz El Alto).

Amaszonas del Uruguay was formed following the completion of Amaszonas' acquisition of the defunct BQB Líneas Aéreas (Punta del Este) in May this year. Other destinations that are expected to launch in the near future include Asuncion and Santiago de Chile.
