Aeroméxico (AM, México City International) has terminated its Venezuelan operations with immediate effect citing the country's worsening economic situation. Earlier this month, Grupo Aeroméxico CEO Andrés Conesa told a news conference that the airline had not been able to tap revenue generated in Venezuela for the past two years with other services having to subsidize the route as a result.

The Mexican carrier, which operated a 6x weekly México City International-Caracas Simón Bolivar service using B737-700 equipment, is the latest foreign carrier to pull out of the troubled South American nation following LATAM Airlines Group, Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International), Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino), Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau), and GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (G3, São Paulo Congonhas).
