Swiss (LX, Zurich) has taken delivery of its first A220-100 ahead of the type's global market debut next month.

As the C-Series launch operator, Swiss is using the type to gradually replace its fleet of sixteen ARJ-100s all of which are wet-leased from its Swiss Global Air Lines (Zurich) unit.

The first CS100, HB-JBA (cn 50010), aircraft is scheduled to enter service with Swiss on July 15, 2016 with its maiden commercial flight slated to be Zurich-Paris CDG. Thereafter, the twinjet will then be deployed on other regional European services including: Warsaw Chopin, Brussels National, Nice, Stuttgart Manfred Rommel, Hannover, Milan Malpensa, Florence Peretola, and Bucharest Henri Coanda in due course.

The Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) subsidiary has fifteen CS100s and fifteen A220-300s on order from Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau).
