Kenya Airways (KQ, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta), RwandAir (WB, Kigali), Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International), and flydubai (FZ, Dubai International) have suspended flights the South Sudanese capital, Juba, following an outbreak of fresh fighting.

The Sudan Tribune reports forces loyal to President Salva Kiir attacked the headquarters of the first vice president, Riek Machar, located in the Gudele and Jebel suburbs of Juba, early on Sunday morning. Since then, 'hundreds' of locals are said to have been killed.

Machar and Kiir signed a peace accord in August last year ending two years of civil war. But, despite the relative calm since then, reports indicate sporadic attacks did occur throughout the course of last week culminating in Sunday's outbreak of fighting.
