EVA Air (BR, Taipei Taoyuan) has announced it will suspend all flights to Turkey in light of the country's still volatile socio-political climate.

In a statement, the Taiwanese carrier said its 4x weekly Taipei Taoyuan-Istanbul Atatürk service will end on July 25 with their resumption only likely to occur next summer. Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) also plies the route albeit on a daily basis using B777-300(ER) metal.

The Taiwanese government has warned its citizens against traveling to Turkey in the wake of the aftermath of Friday's failed military coup. On Wednesday, July 20, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a three-month long state of emergency.

China Southern has also announced that it does not plan to resume Urumqi-Istanbul Atatürk services until further notice.
