KazMunayGas (KMG), the state-owned oil and gas company of Kazakhstan, has placed its Euro-Asia Air (EAK, Atyrau) unit up for sale.

The Kazakh sovereign wealth fund, Samruk Kazyna, says the sale will be conducted in two phases, the first of which, a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI), will end on August 19. KazMunayGas owns 100% of the shares in the carrier.

Valued at KZT15.5 billion (USD45.3 million), Euro-Asia Air operates twenty aircraft including twelve Mil Helicopters, a Bombardier Aerospace Challenger 850 and 870, four Finmeccanica Helicopters AW139s, and two Eurocopter SA365s.

It specializes in business and private charter flights in support of the mining, petroleum, and electrical industries.
