South Korea's Eastar Jet (ZE, Seoul Gimpo) has become the latest Asian budget carrier and the first non-HNA Group member to join the U-Fly alliance.

"The new airline will open up more destinations across Northern Asia and enable travellers to access U-Fly alliance connections in Seoul Incheon, Busan, Jeju and many more exciting cities," a press release said.

Eastar Jet currently operates three B737-700s and fourteen B737-800s on flights connecting twenty-two cities across South Korea, Thailand, Japan, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Hong Kong.

The alliance, which caters to budget carriers exclusively, counts HK Express, Lucky Air (China), Urumqi Air, and West Air (China) as its other members.
