Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) Managing Director, Sugat Ratna Kansakar, has outlined the carrier's initial plans for its incoming widebody fleet of two A330-200s.
In a telephone interview with Gulf News, Kansakar said the aircraft would be used in opening routes to Osaka Kansai and/or Tokyo Narita in Japan as well as Seoul Incheon in South Korea.
Due in December 2016 and February 2017, the A330s will replace the Nepalese national carrier's pair of B757-200s which are slated to be sold off later this year.
Nepal Airlines also operates two A320-200 (sl)s (with a further two due in 2017), one MA-60, three DHC-6-300s, and one Y12E on flights throughout the Himalayan Kingdom as well as to India, Thailand, Qatar, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and before long, the United Arab Emirates. It is also considering service to Beijing Capital, Chengdu Shuangliu, Kunming Changshui, Lhasa, and Shanghai Pudong in China, and to Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
