Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) is set to take delivery of its first of six B787-9s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) in December of this year. The aircraft, msn 63040, will be used to inaugurate the carrier's maiden US East Coast services during the first quarter of next year.
At a press conference this week, Xiamen Airlines announced its 3x weekly Fuzhou-New York JFK service would commence on February 15. The B787-9s will feature four seats in First class, eighteen in Business, and 215 in Economy.
Xiamen Airlines expects the remaining five B787-9s to be delivered through 2018.
