Somon Air (SZ, Dushanbe) has opened preliminary discussions with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Zhukovsky) over the possible acquisition of an undisclosed number of SSJ 100/95s.

The Tajik carrier said in a statement issued this week that a decision on any purchase will only be taken once the Russian aircraft manufacturer has submitted its proposal.

Somon Air operates an all-Boeing (BOE, Washington National) fleet of two B737-300s, two B737-800s, and two B737-900(ER)s on flights to seventeen destinations in Tajikistan, Russia, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
