Uzbekistan Airways (HY, Tashkent International) has taken delivery of its first of two B787-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). UK78701 (msn 38363) was ferried from Everett to Tashkent International, Uzbekistan on Tuesday, August 30 and will be followed by msn 38364 in November.

Crew familiarization flights will commence on September 5 with flights between Tashkent, Urgench, Bukhara, and Nukus. Thereafter, the aircraft will eventually be used on the carrier's Tashkent International-New York JFK flagship service that operates via Riga.

Uzbekistan Airways' passenger fleet also includes seven B767-300(ER)s, nine A320-200s, six B757-200s, and seven Il-114s.
