Aurigny Air Services (GR, Guernsey) has ended ATR72-200 operations following the withdrawal of its last remaining airframe of the type from regular service.

According to Skyliner Aviation, HB-ALQ (cn 449), formerly G-BWDB, has been acquired by Zimex Aviation (XM, Zurich) for freighter conversion. The aircraft was ferried from Guernsey to Toulouse Francazal last week.

The Channel Islands-based scheduled carrier has a further two ATR72-500, one ATR42-500, one E190, three Do228s, and four Trislanders remaining in its fleet.

For its part, Zimex Aviation acquired two ATR 72-200(F)/-500(F)/-600Fs earlier this year. The Swiss carrier specializes in charter operations for the oil and gas industry as well as humanitarian aid agencies. It also operates ten DHC-6-300s and one DHC-6-400 alongside other smaller turboprop aircraft including the Beech 1900D and Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter.
