Yeti Airlines (YT, Kathmandu) plans to add two ATR72-500s by mid-2017 and additional ATR42-500s to its fleet by mid-2018, which will support its short-haul network of domestic routes.

The Nepalese carrier is in the final stages of acquiring the ATRs and is studying the aircraft’s performance, according to Aviation Nepal. The airline intends to deploy the ATR72-500s on flights from its base in Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Dhangarhi, and Nepalgunj. The ATR42s will be used on services to Bharatpur, Janakpur and Tumling Tar.

Yeti Airlines maintains operations with seven Jetstream 41s, which will be gradually phased out of the fleet with the arrival of the ATR aircraft.
