LATAM Airlines Group controlling shareholders, the Chilean Cueto Group and the Brazilian Amaro Group, have agreed to modify their ownership in the company prior to Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) buying a stake, Chile's SVS securities regulator said in a statement.

The Cueto Group, which currently owns 25% of the company, will acquire a 6.47% stake from the Amaro Group, which holds a 12% share in the regional carrier, in order to keep control.

LATAM Airlines Group shareholders voted in favour of a USD613.16 million share capital increase in August thereby paving the way for Qatar Airways to acquire a 10% stake in the Latin American aviation consortium. The vote was unanimous.
