Envoy Air (MQ, Dallas/Fort Worth) plans to reopen its base at New York La Guardia during the first quarter of 2017 by stationing E140 and E145 aircraft at the airport, the airline said in a statement.

The American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) subsidiary will operate flights from La Guardia to destinations in the United States and Canada. It will maintain a base for pilots, flight attendants and mechanics at the airport. Envoy Air scaled down its New York base operations during 2015. As a result, American had contracted another partner carrier to cover the subsequent gap in the New York market. Envoy will initially serve Columbus John Glenn, OH, Detroit Metropolitan, Fayetteville Regional and Norfolk International, VA on American's behalf from January 9, 2017.

The ch-aviation fleets database shows Envoy currently operates thirteen ERJ-140s, eighty-six ERJ-145s, thirty-eight CRJ700s and twenty-two E175s.
