Binter Canarias (NT, Gran Canaria) has signed a firm order agreement with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) for the purchase of six additional ATR 72-600s, taking their total backlog of the type to eighteen.

The new aircraft will contribute to the Canary Islands-based carrier's fleet renewal process that it commenced two years ago with the purchase of the first six ATR 72-600s.

Binter currently operates fourteen ATR72-500s, four ATR72-600s on scheduled passenger flights to Spain, Senegal, Gambia, Portugal, Mauritania, and the Cape Verde. Its nascent subsidiary, Binter CV (Praia), is expected to launch operations this month using ATR72-500s.
