Air India Express (IX, Delhi International) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to all interested, eligible parties for the supply of two B737-800s on eight-year dry-lease contracts with the option of extending them for a further four years.

The Air India (AI, Delhi International) LCC subsidiary said in a tender document seen by ch-aviation, that the aircraft should feature CFM56-7B27BE motors with a capacity for 189 in an all-economy configuration.

The successful candidate will deliver the aircraft before the end of the 2017 calendar year.

The deadline for submissions is November 4, 2016.

Air India Express recently agreed to dry-lease six B737-800NGs from GECAS on similar terms. Five have already been inducted with the remainder due by the end of November. In all, it currently operates twenty-two B737-800s.
