Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for the purchase of up to twelve Dash 8-400s.

Should the order be firmed, PAL intends to use the turboprops to develop its domestic operations from secondary hubs while increasing intra-island connectivity.

Mainline carrier PAL does not, at present, operate any Bombardier equipment although its sister, PAL Express (2P, Manila Ninoy Aquino International), does in the form of four Dash 8-300s and five Q400s.
