Azur Air (ZF, Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo) has launched scheduled charter flights between Moscow Domodedovo and Varadero, marking its entry onto the Cuban market.

The leisure operator will maintain two weekly flights on the route with its B767-300(ER) fleet. It will provide competition to Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) which flies between Moscow Sheremetyevo and Havana International. Cuba has always been a popular choice for Russian travellers, especially during the winter season.

Varadero is Azur Air's second destination in the Caribbean. Last year it launched charter flights from Moscow to Punta Cana and this September added flights from St. Petersburg as well. The company specialises in charter services and boasts nine B757-200s and six B767-300(ER)s in its fleet.
