PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to all eligible parties for the lease of eight wide-body aircraft. The announcement follows an RFP issued last week for eight narrowbody aircraft (four wet- and four dry-leased machines).

In the first tender document, PIA is looking to wet-lease up to four widebody aircraft seating at least 250 passengers in a two-class configuration with twenty-four Business Class seats. Deliveries of the aircraft should occur around the middle of December this year. The contract is for three months (extendable) with 300 guaranteed block hours per month.

In the second tender document, PIA is looking to dry-lease up to four widebody aircraft seating at least 250 passengers in a two-class configuration with twenty-four Business Class seats. The aircraft should be delivered by the middle of 2017 with contracts running for six to eight years.

In both tenders, while preference will be given to jets that are younger than four years of age at the time of delivery, older jets can still be used provided they feature new/modern interiors, carpets and seating as well as up-to-date in-flight entertainment.

The deadline for all submissions is November 16, 2016.

PIA's widebody fleet is currently a mixture of Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) aircraft including four A310-300s, one A330-300 (leased from SriLankan Airlines with a further two inbound), six B777-200(ER)s, two B777-200(LR)s, and three B777-300(ER)s.
